You're Too Fat For Abercrombie and Fitch. Gawd...

So basically, I've recently read a very rude statement from the guy that owns Abercrombie and Fitch: Robin Lewis, co-author of The New Rules of Retail, told Business Insider the retailer's CEO, Mike Jeffries, 'doesn't want larger people shopping in his store, he wants thin and beautiful people.

'He doesn't want his core customers to see people who aren't as hot as them wearing his clothing,' Mr Lewis added. 'Mr Jeffries told Salon in a 2006 interview: 'That’s why we hire good-looking people in our stores. Because good-looking people attract other good-looking people, and we want to market to cool, good-looking people. We don’t market to anyone other than that.' This kind of statement is wrong business-wise, and really rude. If he was to say that only cool people should wear Abercrombie and Fitch, then it's a very small market that he is aiming for. The really 'cool' people only are normally a small group, that probably think A and F is 'too mainstream' but that's beside the point. The people who actually buy A and F are those who aim to be like the 'cool' people, we would be better off not insulting the people who actually buy his clothes, the follower, not the leaders. Plus, I don't think of A and F as being 'cool' just very very dull. This is so true, the people we all aspire to emulate are normally the ones that set the trends not the ones that follow them. Admittedly I did once succumb and bought some bottle green joggers. Unfortunately they said 'Abercrombie' on the bum, and in my 14 year old head I thought this was slutty mcsluttson and decided never to wear them out. One should avoid having a slogan across one's derrière when possible.

Can I just point this out ( as many others have) he is clearly making up for some kind of personal issues because look people... look...
